You don’t own a Raspberry Pi?

Ultibo.org Posted on March 5, 2016 by ultiboMarch 5, 2016

Okay, not everyone owns a Raspberry Pi yet. So we made a video of the demo image, the quality is not perfect and it won’t win an academy award but it should be enough so you can see what Ultibo is all about.

If you like what you see maybe it’s time to order your own Pi!

Great feedback, great questions…Thank you

Ultibo.org Posted on February 12, 2016 by ultiboFebruary 12, 2016

It is just over a week since Ultibo core was released and we really appreciate the great feedback, comments, questions and suggestions received so far.

When we started working on this project we had the idea to make something that was accessible and familiar, so people could create projects for embedded devices using tools and code that worked the same way as on any other platform.

This is just the beginning and there is still a lot to do, but it’s already been fantastic to hear there are others who think this is something they want to be a part of.

Thanks everyone, we look forward to hearing more about how you might be using Ultibo core and what ideas you have both for now and the future.

Ultibo is here, what is Ultibo?

Ultibo.org Posted on February 3, 2016 by ultiboFebruary 3, 2016

Today marks the release of Ultibo core an environment for developing software for devices without using an operating system. Whether you call it embedded, bare metal or internet of things, Ultibo core provides the services and features you need to create your ideas without starting from scratch.

We’ve packaged everything you need to get started in a single simple download that includes the powerful Free Pascal compiler and Lazarus development environment, no need to hunt for tools or build from source, just start writing. Ultibo core includes internet connectivity, access to files, support for common USB devices and much more, with full support for both Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi 2 so you don’t need to spend a fortune on hardware.

Ultibo core is free and open source so you can use it, share it and modify it to do whatever you can imagine. You’ll probably have a lot more questions so look around the site, check out the wiki and join in the forum to see if Ultibo core is what you’ve been looking for.

The Ultibo project will be many things and Ultibo core is just the beginning, we hope you’ll be a part of it.

Start today, Make the future

Ultibo.org Posted on February 3, 2016 by ultiboFebruary 3, 2016

There’s never been a better time to be a maker than right now. In a world full of new devices, gadgets and tools you only need imagination to get started making the things you’ve always wanted to own. The opportunities available today to learn, explore and experiment are greater than any time in history, everything you could ever want to know can be found online and the hardware just keeps getting cheaper (and smaller) every day.

You might already have an idea or you might think all the best ideas have already been taken, you might have tried before and been told it’s too hard or not possible. Remember though, if no one ever does anything different how will the future be better than the past?

It doesn’t matter where you come from, if you’re young or old or even if you’ve never made anything before, the only way to learn is to try and if it doesn’t work, try again. Why not give it a go, start making and learning something today you might find a skill you never knew existed.

We’re releasing Ultibo core today so you can start making the future of devices right now.

Are you ready for a new tomorrow?

Ultibo.org Posted on February 3, 2016 by ultiboFebruary 3, 2016

You might not have noticed but a revolution has been going on in the past few years, whether you call it embedded devices, the internet of things or just a maker movement, people all over the world are changing the way they look at technology. No longer satisfied just to accept what companies package as a product to sell, individuals young and old are creating their own products and sharing what they learn with others.

The incredible success of the Raspberry Pi is just one example of this revolution in action, with millions of these little computers being sold in just a few short years. You no longer need to be a major corporation or a computer scientist to be part of creating the tomorrow you want to see, anyone, anywhere can get involved and the resources and information are accessible whatever point you are starting from.

We started the Ultibo project because we saw that the traditional way wasn’t creating the things we wanted, along the way we found that we were not the only ones. Your ideas might not be the same as ours, but that’s because they’re your ideas and represent the things that are most important to you. In a great big connected world we can all learn from each other and share what we have learned like never before.

Ultibo.org is dedicated to helping you be a part of creating your own tomorrow whatever you’d like that to be, join in and be a part of a new tomorrow.
