Work with MyCroft.AI ?

Postby PaulBreneman » Sat Jul 21, 2018 9:04 pm

I've spent a little time (at Linux meetings) at in Lawrence, Kansas. I now hope to set a system up myself with a RPi. Maybe Ultibo could be used to make a WYSIWYG skills creator?

Ouch, well I like ambition ;)
Do you want to do it on the Mycroft hardware or DIY hardware?

I do have plenty of PS3 Eyecams but they need Ultibo USB driver :(
Actually two drivers if you want video and audio, it has a sort of USB hub in it.

Digital microphone chips are cheap and easy to connect to the i2s pins
But I don't know if they will be sensitive enough to hear commands across a room.
I have these to play with

PDM microphones are interesting, they are not i2s
There are versions you can serially connect to get more than stereo.
However because they are silicon mems based a DSP can be added to the silicon and now things like this are appearing ... icrophones.

Just noticed this one

The AI I have already posed somethings about some time ago.

I am now using Gentoo64 on Pi's to get full access to the 64bit cores and better NEON.
This was so I can compile ARM's Compute library.
Ultibo then should be able to call the C functions.

I had to read up a bit to understand what you meant but it looks to me like Mycroft skills are mostly just a bunch of text files so yes I think it could be possible to create a WYSIWYG editor.

It might be easier once we have some form of GUI with components like Lazarus but either way it seems like it should be doable.

Interesting that the whole system appears to be written in Python! | Make something amazing
