Thinking in buying a touch screen for PI

Postby blueicaro » Thu Jul 05, 2018 5:00 pm

Hi, I was looking for a touchscreen for my ultibo/pi proyects.
I look this: https://www.wiki.52pi.com/index.php?tit ... _HOST_Port)_SKU:_EP-0085
Reading the wiki, they said that the PI kernel has driver building.

Any one has any experince with this screen and ultibo?.

Do you think will work with ultibo?. May be need some code.

Any ideas/sugestions?

The display will work without any problem because it is HDMI, the touch screen probably won't work yet but from reading the wiki page it appears to be a USB touch device.

We have been doing some work recently on creating a more generic USB driver that can support these types of devices, it isn't ready yet but if you have a look at what we did in this post you can see that it isn't difficult to create a specific driver for a USB touch device as a one off exercise until the generic solution is working.

I can't guarantee that it can be made to work with Ultibo but I'm pretty sure there is a very good chance.
