Noticed this today.

Looks like a new start_x.elf is needed,
What changes are in the kernel.img?

HDMI, DSI and two SPI LCDs?
Hmm plug in debug screen?

We've been watching this closely since it was first discussed in an earlier post.

Currently it looks like there are still a few issues with the Linux drivers but having the updated start_x.elf allows us to test it under Ultibo. We have most of the new functions written and will do some testing as soon as possible.

The changes we care about are in the VC4 mailbox interface (new messages) which makes it easy to implement from Ultibo, the necessary information can be picked out of the updated Linux drivers.

It does offer some very useful possibilities, especially when it allows HDMI (or Composite), DSI and DPI all simultaneously and the Ultibo support for multiple framebuffers is already complete and well tested.

Cool 8-)
I might have to get a tiny TV TFT.

Use it for portable debug console etc
Make it battery powered, only need two wire connection.

Note that it's still HDMI or Composite Video, not both together.

That's a shame for people who are using a HDMI monitor and would like an extra screen for debugging with minimal I/O connections. HDMI plus VGA via GPIO would probably be the best two screen solution for use on a desk.

Rats :(
After 6 years I still have not used composite output.
