Re: Demoscene

Here's an ultibo demoscene - a hack like all demoscenes - an unintended (no linux) use of a resource (a pi.)

Re: Using the ActivityLED to show IP address

Garry, do you have any thoughts on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Plug_and_Play which could serve a similar purpose? The ble buttonsorter project might often be installed without a display and an easy way of browsing to it would be useful. Thanks, Mark.

Re: Flic Ultibo

I didn't know that the BLE message already contains the "MAC" address of the Micro:bit, so there is absolutely no need for an extra byte to identify from which Micro:bit is coming the BLE message. The simplest scenario will be to forward the MAC address of the Micro:bit while sending the ...

Re: Accessing the Cloud

Paul, do you know if this can be applied to an ultibo https server instead of a client? Thanks, Mark.

Re: A retro future, without the past

You might have noticed that Ultibo has been used in quite a few retro projects over the past couple of years, that's probably not surprising really since there is a huge interest worldwide in all things retro including computers and gaming. It also could be a reflection of the Ultibo model which re...

Re: microbit as ultibo peripheral

UPDATE2: After a small amount of debugging we found that the FAT12 volume presented by the micro:bit is missing the (mandatory) signature at the end of the boot sector, if we skip over testing for the signature then the volume can be mounted and read/written without any issues. After a bit of a Goo...

Re: Flic Ultibo

The https could be provided off-ultibo by an http/https bridge running on a lan raspbian. https is already available on ultibo, see https://github.com/pjde-ultibo/TLS Regards Paul Thanks Paul - I thought you had started it but forgot that you have already successfully performed cloud transactions w...

Re: Flic Ultibo

Your idea looks simple. If I understand properly, once assigned these 3 bytes, when pressing one of the button attached to the Micro:bit, the Micro:bit will broadcast BLE message over the air containing 3 bytes header signature and the ButtonID pressed, anyone can intercept this message while in th...

Re: Flic Ultibo

How about this: the user prepares the ultibo sd card using the download, starts the pi, and then attaches the microbit via usb. The pi loads the microbit with the button broadcast program. The program is actually slightly modified to include the lower three bytes of the pi's mac address (the upper 3...

Re: Flic Ultibo

I'm out of the office until late next week. I agree with multiple microbits with multiple ultibo's along with some kind of ultibo handler for button presses. Mark.
